When Fine Art photographer Duncan Caratacus Clark first approached Amazing Internet to build a new e-commerce site for his business, we took the traditional photo-library approach. However, it quickly became apparent that the type of work and therefore the type of clientele the site had to serve was quite different to a normal photo library. Therefore a different approach to presentation and navigation was required. Once the graphic design was complete we set about designing a system which suited the art buyer rather than the picture editor, and www.fotografique.com is the result.

Another important part of the brief was that the site needed to be able to be integrated with the Capture Library Management software that Duncan uses. We worked with Capture Co. on the integration and provided an administration system that allows the images to be exported directly from Capture and into the website with no further work required. All keywords, captions and other image data is retained by the system.
