PORTFOLIOSERIES Gallery Image sizes

The different gallery layouts use different-sized thumbnail images in order to be optimally displayed. The pop-up preview image is the same size for all gallery layouts.

All image uploads using the administration pages of the PORTFOLIOSERIES are checked. You will not be allowed to upload images above the maximums given below.

All photographic images for galleries should be saved in medium quality JPEG format.

Preview Image

The preview image apears in a pop-up window when the thumbnail image of the PORTFOLIOSERIES gallery you are browsing is clicked on.

The preview image should be a maximum of 700 pixels on it's longest edge. The filesize should be no more than 100KiB. You should try to keep all your preview images around the same size for consistency.

Thumbnail Images

Each different gallery layout has an optimal image size that works across the majority of computer screen sizes. The sizes are given below.

Gallery Layout 1

• Three images wide by four high. No titles or captions displayed.

The optimal image size for this layout is 100 pixels on the image's longest edge.

The maximum image size is 100 pixels on the longest edge. The filesize should be no more than 10KiB.

Gallery Layout 2

• One image wide by twelve high, all right aligned. Titles and captions optionally displayed.

The optimal image size for this layout is 250 pixels on the image's longest edge.

The maximum image size is 250 pixels on the longest edge. The filesize should be no more than 30KiB.

Gallery Layout 3

• One image wide by twelve high, alternate alignment. Titles and captions optionally displayed.

The optimal image size for this layout is 250 pixels on the image's longest edge.

The maximum image size is 250 pixels on the longest edge. The filesize should be no more than 30KiB.

This layout is not suitable for the art template style.

Gallery Layout 4

• Two images wide by six high. Titles and captions optionally displayed beneath each image.

The optimal image size for this layout is 250 pixels on the image's longest edge.

The maximum image size is 250 pixels on the longest edge. The filesize should be no more than 30KiB.

This layout is not suitable for the art template style.

Gallery Layout 5

• Three images wide by four high. Titles and captions optionally displayed beneath each image.

The optimal image size for this layout is 160 pixels on the image's longest edge.

The maximum image size is 160 pixels on the longest edge. The filesize should be no more than 25KiB.

This layout is not suitable for the art template style.

Gallery Layout 6

• Four images wide by three high. No titles or captions displayed.

The optimal image size for this layout is 100 pixels on the image's longest edge.

The maximum image size is 100 pixels on the longest edge. The filesize should be no more than 10KiB.
